Cedar Cliff High School
Marching Band, 2008
This year's competition program was entitled "First to Fly, the Story of the Wright Brothers." The band director, Benjamin Goldsborough, wrote the narration, some of the music, and arranged the rest, including music by Danny Elfman and David Holsinger.
My favorite part -- 10 MB .MPG file, filmed at the USSBA Nationals in Annapolis, VA
Complete program -- 55 MB .WMV file, filmed at Cedar Cliff High School in rather heavy fog.
Print-quality (6x4) picture of Katy after the band came off the field at USSBA Nationals.
Here's a pic of the band performing at Nationals in Annapolis; Katy is in the front on the 50 yard line. (The two men in street-clothes in the front of the band are judges.) In order to attend the competition, each band needed to meet certain score criteria at a preliminary regional competition. All of the bands at Nationals were very good! The top five bands were all within .8 points of each other. Our band scored 96.9 and came in first in the Group III Open category, against 13 other bands in our division.

That is the BIGGEST trophy I've ever seen! (The picture was taken at the band banquet at the end of Marching Season.) It had to be disassembled to bring it home. Even the Athletic Director was jealous -- it's bigger than the largest trophy that any school sports team has won by several feet.
